Here’s how it works:
- US Citizen or Eligible Non-Citizen and NYS resident.
- Must fill out FASFA application. The CPT award is a “last dollar” scholarship. Any federal or NYS grants or scholarships, including PELL and TAP, are applied to tuition first and the CPT funding covers any remaining tuition expenses.
- Must commit to a three-year service requirement, working for a healthcare, behavioral health, or social care network provider in New York State that serves a patient population that is at least 30% Medicaid-reliant or uninsured.
- Planning to enroll or accepted in an accredited program for one of the 13 NYS job titles.
Participants are expected to obtain training and education at one of the approved NYS schools. Out of state training and educational partners will be considered on a case-by-case basis and will require justification as to why in-state partners cannot provide the same or similar training for participants.
