Whether you’re just starting fresh or looking to advance your career, the Caring Gene Career Pathways Training program offers full coverage for tuition and more to U.S. citizens or eligible non-citizens who are New York State residents.

U.S. Citizen/Eligible Non-Citizen and New York State resident or resident of a bordering state. (Out of state participants from New Jersey, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, and Vermont must be employed by a NYS healthcare provider to qualify for the CPT program.)
Accepted or planning to enroll in 1 of the 13 accredited health, behavioral health, and social care programs.
Be ready to complete FAFSA and/or TAP if required by your school for your degree (not required before applying but speeds up the process).
Complete your degree by Spring 2027, with service commitment done by 2031.
You must commit to a three-year service requirement, working for a healthcare, behavioral health, or social care network provider in New York State that serves a patient population that is at least 30% Medicaid-reliant or uninsured.
Applications are accepted by the county you live in. We are accepting applications from the following counties: Albany, Broome, Chenango, Clinton, Columbia, Cortland, Delaware, Essex, Franklin, Fulton, Greene, Hamilton, Herkimer, Jefferson, Lewis, Madison, Montgomery, Oneida, Onondaga, Oswego, Otsego, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schenectady, Schoharie, St. Lawrence, Tioga, Tompkins, Warren, Washington
