Licensed Master of Social Works (LMSWS) applies social work theory, principles, and methods to prevent, assess, evaluate, formulate and implement a plan of action based on client needs to address mental, social, emotional, behavioral, developmental, and addictive disorders, conditions and disabilities.

Overview

Licensed Master of Social Workers (LMSWs) work with individuals, couples, families, groups, communities, organizations, and society. LMSWs administer tests and measures of psychosocial functioning, and perform social work advocacy, case management, counseling, consultation, research, administration and management, and teaching.

Work Environment

Licensed Master of Social Workers (LMSWs) work in private practice, either solo or in a group with other social workers or mental health professionals, hospitals, outpatient mental health and substance abuse centers, school districts, nursing and residential care facilities.
