Associate Nurses (ASNs) address health needs through diagnosis, education, counseling, and implementing care plans prescribed by licensed providers.

Overview

Associate Nurses (ASNs) diagnose and treat human responses to actual or potential health problems through case finding, health teaching, health counseling, provide supportive or restorative care, and execute medical regimens prescribed by a licensed physician, dentist or other legally authorized licensed health care provider.

Registered Nurses can receive either an Associate Degree or a Bachelor of Science Degree.

Work Environment

Associate Nurses (ASNs) work in hospitals, clinics, ambulatory care centers, long term care facilities, and home health care.

Expected to increase 6% between 2022 and 2032.

Median salary range for a nurse, as stated by the NYS Department of Labor, for Capitol Region, Central NY and Finger Lakes Regions is $83,417 – $87,595
