Academic support built into the CPT Program
Going back to school is a big decision, whether you’re fresh out of high school or returning to the classroom after some time in the workforce. The courses will be demanding, which is why academic support resources are included for all Caring Gene® Program participants.
What kind of academic support does Caring Gene® offer?
All CPT Program participants have a full lineup of academic resources available to them. That includes on-demand study help, exam prep tools, and professional development trainings. The specifics vary based on pathway, but there are opportunities for everyone.
Support that doesn’t stop at orientation
Use these resources on your own terms, whether it’s a quick review before an exam or a deeper dive into a new subject. Chitani and HealthStream are available to every Caring Gene® Program participant, and BOCES students have additional access to Sophia Learning.
- Chitani: Need one-on-one or small group study help in a specific subject? Reach out to your case manage at any point and they’ll get you access to Chitani.
- HealthStream: This platform offers self-paced courses on professional communication, stress management, and other skills you’ll need in your new role. Your case manager can recommend specific courses based on your pathway.
- Sophia Learning: If you’re enrolled in a BOCES program, you can use Sophia Learning to review foundational subjects like Anatomy & Physiology. And you earn college credit for each course you successfully complete.
Prepping for licensure exams
As graduation gets closer, your focus will shift to your licensing exam. UWorld is available to all CPT Program participants enrolled in nursing school, and our LMSW and LMHC participants have access to Triad.
- UWorld: Built specifically for NCLEX® prep, this resource includes practice questions with detailed explanations, items that test clinical judgement, self-assessments, and adaptive practice tests. Your subscription only lasts for 90 days, so reach out to your case manager to determine when to activate it.
- Triad: LMSW and LMHC participants will receive an invitation to Triad approximately six months before graduation. The timing is designed to help you prepare for your exam when it matters most.
Not sure where to start?
When in doubt, get in touch with your case manager. They can talk you through the resources available to you and help you access them. You’ll also find more detailed information on your student dashboard.
